So, I just received my acceptance from my target school. YAYYYY! Though I am excited (since this BSN program is super competitive and I didn't think I would get in), I am extremely nervous. Now that my plans actually followed through, I am getting overwhelmed with the thought of nursing school and the nerves that go along with it! Is this feeling normal? Does anyone have any tips to calm nursing-school nerves? This is something I've wanted for so long and have worked very hard for... I really want to succeed!!!

This feeling is so normal! Congrats on getting into the BSN program. It'll be a great experience. Nursing school is difficult, and it takes a lot of hard work to succeed. But, you aren't alone. Your fellow classmates have the same struggle. As you kill the simulation man (by accident) in practice sessions, you will learn that you are all in it together. Nursing school is a team effort, at least for me it was. I made many great friends through school. In the beginning, professors will ease you into it for a couple weeks. They know you are nervous, because at one time they were as well. Take things one day at a time. You made it through the prerequisite courses and the application process. So you will be organized and motivated enough to get through nursing school. I'm excited for you!

Aw thank you so much! This was the exact encouragement I needed to hear! I thought I was going crazy for feeling the way I feel, but its nice to know Im not alone. I hear horror stories about people dropping out or failing out of nursing school, and practically every one of those have been running through my head since getting the acceptance! But I'm sure once I get in there, my nerves will ease... Thanks again!!! :)

Just from my school as an example, those who dropped out usually did so for personal reasons such as family problems, illness, or financial trouble. Not so much to do with their success. I don't know anyone who really put in the effort that failed. You were accepted for a reason :)

That's very true, I think I will be driven enough to succeed! Thanks again!
