I already have ADN program overseas 20yrs ago. Instead continuing here in the U.S., I took a job in other field till am in the age of early 50sh, I got laid off. Now, I want to get my foot in the door in the medical field being as R.N. My question is how to take courses while I am working? now my job is CNA for almost 5yrs and willing to learn more knowledge in healthcare which is more secure career. Thank you so much for your help.

You should go to your local community college that offers an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and talk with a counselor. Unfortunately, I think that most of the prerequisite courses will have to be repeated, as 20 yr old coursework will not be acceptable. Most community colleges offer night and sometimes even Saturday classes so that you can work and also go to school. I would also ask about an LVN program, as that might be another possibility for you.

Thank you so much for your help and I do appreciate it.
