Need advice, should I take this job?

Nurses General Nursing

I have been a med/surg, oncology nurse for 8 months (graduated in June). I was recently hurt at my job doing way too much heavy lifting (poor acuity staffing continues to be a huge problem on my unit) and now I have a back injury that I don't know if it will ever get better, probable slipped disc. So I started looking for clinic jobs that don't require all the heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of patients. I was offered a job at a clinic that I really liked and it would be doing infusion. They are family friendly and flexible with hours due to family obligations. My hours would be 7:30 AM - 4 PM with some flexibility as needed. The only real issue is the drive will likely be 1 hour each way in heavy traffic. That is the only drawback and my big concern. I plan to do a mock drive tomorrow to experience how absolutely awful it is, but I know I desperately want out of my bedside nursing position too. Unfortunately, I am under a 2 year contract too that I would have to pay back. However, I know I have to find another job no matter what due to my injury and I am prepared to pay back my contract.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

Did you file a workers' comp claim for your injury?

Is the one hour including traffic?

I probably would not take the job... at least long term..., but I know of nurses do do long commutes and do fine. Do you live in an area where clinic jobs are hard to come by? How likely id get another offer would be the deciding factor for me.
