Hello everyone! First time on here, so be gentle. I'm sure this question has been asked multiple times in the past but I'm applying for my NP however, I had a rough starting out and my GPA is a 2.9. Any luck on applying to schools? Or should I do an MSN in Education or Administration, get my grades up and then apply for a post cert NP? If I did that, would I have trouble finding schools that credits transfer to do a post cert NP?

Thanks in advance!

And please, don't say I'm screwed because I already know. Just give me facts, no discouragement, I've had enough lol!

Even for an MSN in education or administration, you would need a more competitive GPA.Consider looking up schools that may give you conditional admission to an MSN program of your choosing. I'm not sure if this option is available for NP programs but you may consider looking at it for other MSN options.

If you're looking for an FNP program, I'm not sure there are many that find 2.9 appealing. I applied to two schools with a 4.0 BSN GPA and a 3.7 overall GPA. During my search, I did not find ANY school that accepted below a 3.0 for students.

I would heavily consider if FNP is the option you want to take and begin searching schools that don't consider GPA the most important aspect.

Best of luck.
