Marymount University's 2nd Degree Accelerated BSN Program

Hi All

I read through some posts and people were discussing Marymount University's 2nd degree BSN program. I am starting the program in the fall and had a question about it. I have all of my prerequisites completed and am registered following the suggested degree plan they have posted on the website and yet on the paper they sent me confirming my enrollment schedule it says I'm graduating in August of 2010. I'm confused here because I thought the program was only 4 semesters through next summer which would give me my degree in December of 2009.

I'm thinking that maybe they wait for all accelerated BSN students from the year to finish since they also have a session that starts in the spring or maybe they are just waiting to see my final transcript from my other university to confirm I'm on track with my prerequisites. I called the school of nursing but haven't gotten a response yet.

Either way can someone who knows for certain let me know how long the program is for sure? I need to include dates on my application for my student loans. Thanks so much!

Do you mean Mount St. Mary's in Los Angeles or another school? Because if you mean Mount St. Mary's, you should be done before 2010 since it is accelerated! And congratulations on getting into nursing school!!!n:yeah:

I am starting the same program this fall 2010. Can you give me any insight on how long the program is having gone through it yourself? Is is possible to complete the program in 3 semesters?

nicki 2516 If you start in fall 2010 you will graduate december 2011. I don't see how it would at all be possible to complete the program in 3 semesters. There are too many classes, labs, and clinicals. Your first semester alone I think you have 18 credits and for me that was the toughest semester so I can't imagine adding more to that. In addition, many of the classes you take are required courses to complete for those you will be taking the next semester. So you are pretty much required to complete the courses in the order in which they are set out in the schedule.
