Looking for a Online RN to MSN Program

Hi all I am in my last year of nursing school and they have suggested we start looking now for continuing education programs. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for a good online program? I would ultimately like to do RN to MSN but am not against doing a RN to BSN program. I am also looking for a school that's affordable. Any suggestions that you have are appreciated. Thanks!

You should not go into an MSN program just for the sake of going into a program. You should go into an MSN program because you have aspirations to further your career, whether that's advanced practice nursing, going into leadership, or teaching others.

I would start with a BSN program, and then after a few years working as an RN, revisit the idea and see where your passions lie.

Wow didn't expect that! I was just asking if anyone knew of any good affordable schools. I am not going into a masters program just for the sake of going. My dream is to be a nurse practitioner so I am going to school for my masters eventually anyway. Thanks for your assumption though.

I earned my MSN in Nursing with a focus in education and am currently working on a PhD in Nursing from Walden. An affordable school of high quality with great support. I have enjoyed my time there.

I think it is a good idea that you are looking now and planning towards the future. You can start searching for schools to find out about the criteria for admission.

Any assumptions I made were based on what you said in your OP. If you had said that you had aspirations to become an NP, my advice would have been different.

That said, I would still recommend doing a BSN program first, and waiting a few years before enrolling in an NP program. I would recommend against for-profit schools. Check out your local university - most of them offer some component of their program online.
