I figured now would be a good time to just say HI and un-lurk myself. Figured I would introduce myself and get to know you guys. My name is Allen Im 35, and I am now a nursing student (as of today). I am a little unordinary because I was a police officer for 11 years and now work in Columbia, SC at Palmetto-Richland as a Radiology Assistant (low pay, but at least I can study)...

My plan is to become LPN certified and then go right to work and right to getting my ADN as an RN. I opted for the money now route because, well, I need money now..LOL

Well, that's me in a nutshell...hope to be posting here a LOT more!

vfib- not out of the ordinary at all. Lots of us have had previous professions and other lives before considering nursing. Welcome!

ps. here's my prediciton for you, print it out, tuck it away, pull in out in say 3 -4 years and send me money if I win! ($1.00) You will start out med=surg, stay 6 months, go right to telemetry for another 6 months then straight to the ED! See if I am not right! Good luck.

Welcome vfib, love that name! I think you will fit right in. I think that cops and nurses both have probably seen people at their worst! Post often. :D
