Is nursing an occupation for your life?

Do you think of changing your profession?

Do you change it if you have an chance to change your profession?

I think anyone who's honest about their career, and or life would admit that it's both! I'm an ER nurse, I love my job. You never get away from being a nurse. I have neighbours calling me asking questions, I sometimes will sit at home after a gruelling shift wondering how I could have made it better. The job affects your life, in that if you have a horrid shift, you cannot help but bring it home with you, you mood will reflect the day/night you've had. As a nurse we are always learning, so on our off-time we are studying. Being a nurse is 24/7..you are never away from it!

But sometimes we get annoyed for nursing and want to leave

I'm in it for life. The only thing I would change is to become more educated.

Nursing was a midlife career change for me. Always wanted to be a nurse but got bit by the computer bug and got a MIS degree instead. I'm in for life, best decision I ever made, wouldn't change a thing.

I dunno.....depends on what week you ask me. Some days I say yes, I'll be in this for life, some days I say hell no, Wal-Mart here I come!!

Perhaps we would not to be in it for life, but maybe we go on it unconsciously till we retire.:roll
