All RNs and LPNs:
If you had to start all over, knowing what you know about nursing now, would you go back to school for nursing?? If not, what do you think you would be more interested in instead?
Thanks everyone!!

I would wish I had gone to school in my 20s instead of my 50s to get my RN. LVN for less than two years. Finishing my last prereq for Bridge program next year. With God's help will graduate in June 09. Lord help me. Nursing school and menopause at the same time. Hope I can do it. My 22 year old daughter did it right just graduated with her RN and almost has her Bachelor's. Don't know if I will stay in med surg though. It is wearing on my body.

I am so thankful to here everyone say they wish they went to RN school in their 20's! I am 22 and about to start the program and I feel soo young, I know I am not that young but in community college most of the RN students are 30s-40s (which I respect very much). Thanks for the indirect encouragement that it is possible to succeed even if I feel young and inadequate. I start in January and know I will be needing a shift in perspective frequently.

I would have quit the BSN program after the first two weeks, and spent the money on travel.

Philisophical,
thanks!
She is an awesome dog, as long as she is not constantly barking
Take care,

I would have gone to an ADN program right after high school then did RN to BSN and CRNA school. Back then it was not so hard to get in and I could have done it before CRNA required a masters degree.
