Hi everyone,

So i just completed my freshman year with a major in biology, however I decided I want to become a nurse, but the school I go to does not offer a degree in nursing. What should I do, transfer even though i love the school or is it possible to become a RN with a degree in biology?

If anyone knows a solution please let me know!! thanks!!

You need to find and get accepted to a school that has a nursing program. You may want to think about if you want a BSN or ADN.

My first degree is in Biology, my generals all transferred quite nicely.

Good luck.

I have a friend from NS who got all the way into her senior year of her Bachelors in Biology and realized she wanted to go for nursing. She took the pre-reqs while still working on her degree, graduated, and applied to a 2nd Bachelors program. I think she'd have been much better off changing her mind sooner than that because she'll never use her previous Bachelors --- her words "I realized I didn't want to be stuck in a lab for the rest of my life."

Just my $0.02. Everyone else has given solid advice here. I think a few people in my program were Biology majors before they were accepted into the nursing program. I myself was Psychology. :D
