I was looking over the rules of the NCLEX, and I'm not sure if I can take it again or not.... It said that you need to COMPLETE (whatever that means) the NCLEX within one year of your first attempt and that you can take it six times.

I have failed the NCLEX three times so far.... And the first time I took it was August 23, 2007. Does that mean that I can't ever take it again? I've only taken it three times..

Also, it said that after you fail three times that you need to complete an education program that has been accepted by the state's board of nursing. Does that mean I need to go back to college and go through the ENTIRE nursing program again in order to take this exam again??

HELP! I really hope I am completely wrong, and that I can just go through a review program and not have to go through school all over again and that I AM able to take the exam again even though it's been over a year since my first try.....

I had a 4.0 GPA in school. I don't understand why this is happening to me. Especially after doing AWESOME at three different guaranteed review programs...

I appreciate any help on this matter that I can get. I tried looking on all kinds of official websites, and can't get a straightforward answer...

I would contact the board of nursing in your state and ask them if they have names of courses in your area that you can take. Usually you don't have to go thru nursing school again, just a special refresher course.

Before I took my boards in cailfornia, I took a class just for the nclex. It was through Caplin Schools. It really helped. They go over more how to take the test. Some of the instructors used to work for the board of nursing.

You can ace thru school but sometimes testing ios dirfficult for people. You suddenly go blank and can't think. After this course, I was confident and aced it. try and find something like that in your area. It really helps.
