Just curious to find out have any nurses worked overseas? If so what differences did you find vs. working in the USA?

Yes, in Southeast Asia. Makes nursing in North America seem like a walk in the park.

Specializes in CVOR,CNOR,NEURO,TRAUMA,TRANSPLANTS.

Yes I have worked in many places overseas. As stated by the above poster Working in other areas of the world compaired to the states is a walk in the park. I have worked in South Africa, Egypt and Singapore, which I can say Singapore was the most advanced I have seen yet and is almost up to the standards as the USA. But one thing that they have that we have seemed to missplace is the fact they can create things to work where we depend too much on technology. The have base knowledge of so many things that we overlook because we have a machine that will do and monitor for us. Which is something that we ourselves miss out on. It is very interesting to learn from someone who is willing to learn from you. I went into each of those areas intending to teach new ways and such and yet I did my job and walked away much richer with what they taught me. Simplicity.

I didn't get paid...volunteer nursing in the ME. Extremely gratifying and something I am so glad that I did. Oh..and hardly any paperwork!
