haircut from hell

Today, I got my hair cut and it is just terrible. First, let me say I am not picky about my hair and have never gotten upset if it isn't cut exactly the way I want it. I just work with it. But this haircut....

I have been growing my hair out for three years. It is very long, halfway down my back and very straight. I usually have layers put in but angled in very softly. This lady who cut my hair put layers in starting at the nape of my neck. She cut it dry and sort of reminds me of a mushroom. It looks like a staircase. And it isn't even cut evenly. It looks more ragged than when I walked in. The woman kept sighing like she really didn't want to be there, and I just couldn't wait to get out of that chair. At the end of the cut, she asked me if I liked it and I told her "no, it wasn't what I wanted" I was so steamed at her for butchering my hair, that instead of having her fix it, I paid and left. I got home, hubby and my SIL said it did indeed look bad. I set an appt for the place where I normally go. I am not ready to lose my length but I fear that that is what is going to happen. Man, I never thought I would be angry over hair....Still mad...:(

Oh...... man do I feel your pain! That has happened to me 2x's in my life..The worst was when I went in for my Sebastian Cellophane (its a vegatable dye) ..... I used to get a Cinnamon color (reddish tint) very subtle.... I walked out of the there with eggplant color hair!!!!!

It was horrible.... and of course everybody kept saying it's only hair.... it will be ok....... I was like WTF...... it's only hair... what if you were walking around with freakin..... purple burgandy looking hair!...... Anyway...... I went to another hair dresser and after 2 visits they were able to change my hair color.......

So..... Good luck at your hairdresser..... She will repair the damage... and you might lose a little length.... just to make the layers blend...... but that's all.... just hang in there till the appt....... it's ponytails and baseball caps till then! LOL

Have you thought about getting a wave? Maybe that will hide the hatchet job and make it look ok...

So sorry to hear about that! I hate it when they mess with my hair!

I can sympathize! I lost most of my hair, and the little that was left I had to cut off because it was so thin. I still have the little braid (it was so thin!).

It grows back, that I can assure you. BUT the wait for it to grow is an eternity... I can't wait until mine hits the middle of my back again. And when it does, if someone butchers it I might just go postal after waiting so long to grow it again!

And this is why I wish I could cut my own hair!! But since I can't, I'm at a stranger's mercy. I hate getting my hair cut.

This is my punishment for trying a new hairdresser at a cheaper rate. Man, what I did to save 5 bucks...Well, maybe I will go chinlength or shorter and make it supercute and trendy. Never will I switch again...

Been there, felt that...I got a haircut that was so bad I actually started to cry while I was in the chair.

A month or two before I went a** over teakettle down the steps, I decided to grow out my bangs (the rest of my hair is in a jaw length bob). I thought I was going to go nuts, but now that I am housebound, hey, no one will see it, and maybe by the time I go back to work, I will have it in an all one length bob. I am going to miss getting it colored for the next two months...sigh.

Anyway, my hairdresser is a bit pricey, but I have total faith in her, so for me, the peace of mind is worth saving a few bucks. She's the only person I have trusted so implicitly that I have told her to just do what she thought would look good...now that's trust!

Lucky for me my mother is a licensed beautician and she is the only person that's ever cut, colored or permed my hair. Don't need the perms anymore as I have naturally curly hair, but it's nice to be able to pretty much get a haircut anytime I want.

I feel your pain kimmicoobug. But I would have asked to see the Salon Manager right away and I definitely wouldn't have paid for obviously shoddy craftsmanship. Good Luck!

Kelly:)

Kelly, now that I think about it and got such a good look at my hair, it makes me mad that I spent that 11 bucks. But, I am kind of passive so I will probably let it go once I see my bee-you-tee-full hair tomorrow.

Be sure you get what you want tomorrow and go to someone you trust. I am very paranoid about hairdressers and my hair. My hair is 35 1/2 inches long and the only hairdresser I will go to has hair almost as long as mine!!!!!!!People who tell you it is only hair are the same people who would probably tell am amputee it is only their foot!!! To me it is the same thing, maybe I am just a psycho. And call that salon and talk to the owner and tell them what a nincompoop that girl was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brenda . . .I beth that looked awesome!!!! I would go for blue next time though.

Don't beat yourself up for trying to save money. One of the worst haircuts I ever had was done at a super-trendy, super-expensive salon and cost me $240, not including tips for the coatcheck girl, shampoo girl, etc. I'd gone in for a cut and colour--just retouching some highlights. I ended up with skunklike dark orange stripes in my dark brown hair. Then, the stylist decided to 'take my look in a new direction' and I let her....ended up looking like I'd been attacked by a very angry weedwhacker.

I was so mortified that it was two days before I called and spoke with the manager. Turned out my stylist had been on a meth high for three days before coming to work that day. They refunded my money, fixed the colour, and I've never gone back. I get my hair cut by a really great lady at a Fantastic Sam's near my house for $12.95.
