Graves Disease and the immune system...

Does anyone know how the immune system is affected after someone with Graves Disease gets the thyroid taken out?

Are they more susceptible to getting sick or staying sick long?

I really need this info and cannot find it anywhere....

She did asked her dr and her endo but she is getting mixed answers.. I thought someone here may have some insight

I imagine that there would be some type of reaction, being that the thyroid involves so much of the body.

Try googling thyroidectomy and immune system together and see what you come up with.

i just read the endocrine system chapter in my anp book, i don't remember it saying anything about affecting the immune system...
