Gift for person pinning me at ceremony

Is it appropriate to get a gift for the person pinning me at my LPN ceremony?

Update: Let me clarify, she is not currently one of my instructors in this program. She was my PCT instructor at a different school. I just asked her to do my pinning. Also, I had not planned on giving her anything extravagant, and not to give her right there on stage. I did mean to give it to her after the ceremony is over, privately.

It is appropriate to bestow a gift upon this person after the pinning ceremony.

Personally, I wouldn't purchase gifts for any instructors. Their houses and offices tend to have useless gifts from former students that have gathered dust over the years. In addition, my tuition dollars partially funded their salaries.

A small bouquet she could take home and enjoy would be suitable. Also: Flowers don't have to be dusted! :)

Well, I know this is a mute point now, but pinning was July 14th!! YAY!! And, I did get her a small gift that I hope she really appreciated. I was so happy to have her there to pin me. It was a special night for me. Now, just waiting to take NCLEX and start my new job. Background checks seem to take a while. It has been over a week! Anyway, thank you for the advice and I can't wait to get my license so I can change my status from student to actual LPN!!
