Well I have been planning on attaining a BSN for awhile now. Currently I work in a State psychiatric hospital , I am in college, I am thinking of taking the pre req's for med school while attaining my BSN. The thing is I am in school on a GED. My question is will a med school look that far back and judge me based on my lack of a HSD?

The only way to really find out is to contact the various schools you are interested in and ask someone directly. Even so, there is little you can do about it. It would be a waste of time and energy to go back and repeat for a high school diploma. Your efforts would be better utilized in pursuing your college studies with the thought in mind that you must develop the best academic record possible. Good luck with defining and obtaining your goals.

You are probably not going to get in to Harvard but there are a lot of quality schools that will focus on your most recent accademic efforts. I wonder why you want the MD instead of the APRN especially if you want to work in mental health. MH does not pay well and the need for APRN is high in this field. Student loans will be less and you can get licensed and start practicing in a shorter amount of time.
