AHHHHHH just need a moment to let of a bit of steam... rant warning

So after finishing a long....long... night shift with a code called (I work psych and those are rare) I am asked to stay over and work another unit for 4hours. I say sure, I like the other unit and don't get lots of opportunities to float over there. Being a normal night nurse and jumping into days I always feel so discombobulated but try hard to take it as it comes and relax. Sooo I am trying to get organized and the doc asks me if I could let her know when the SW shows up and then we would start Tx team. Sounds good, well then I get a report that the SW may not be in for a few hours and it might be helpful to just start without him he can join whenever he gets there. So I am going about my bussiness trying to confirm this and the psychologist over hears this and goes on to give me a very NASTY speech about how I need to learn to go with the flow and "do as the Romans do" that the SW probably had other things to attend to and when the meeting happens it happens!?!?! I was speechless, and honestly thought of lots of things to respond with but I didn't. I was ****** and a little afraid I would go overboard because I was already so tired. My orintee commented about how inappropriate it was, grrr why does everyone have to be sooo condenscending. I had never met the man before but he ended up being an arrogant jerk. Really... I dont care what time you start, or if you start at all, heck to be honest I dont even really want to be there anyways!!! Serves me right for volunteering to do OT! :nono: wont make that mistake again.

Later I sat and laughed at him in treatment team, the idiot had horrible breath... what a goon!!! :barf01:

Some doctors will yell and be arrogant no matter what. That's was so nice of you to stay over. If the doctor didn't appreciate you I'm sure the other nurses did.

I stayed over one time to only do the med passes. That was all, med passes. Several days later the med records lady wanted me to sign off on the treatment book. I told her I didn't do any treatments because that was not the agreement. She was nasty with me and I didn't stay over any more.

don't let that stupid doctor stop you from helping out your fellow nurses they do appreciate you! ....besides..nurses are smarter than doctors anyway...LOL

What a horse's butt! Good for you for keeping your cool. Just shows that you have more class and self-control than others. :yeah:
