they offer it for $295 and $90 deposit is required by credit card first. so i just want to make sure!!

I did my ACLS/PALS at Wyckoff Height hospital in Brooklyn. As far as jobs go are you interested in doing school nursing for at least some money right now? If so PM me and Ill give you the number for you to call. Also..... have you tried applying at any of the HHC hospitals? I know they don't pay as much as the private places but it's a good stepping stone.

I live 15minutes away from Wyckoff hospital, can an outsider do it? Anyway, I was hoping to get a job at this particular hospital, I failed the entrance exam for 1 point and they did not accept me.I am so heart broken!!!!! Anyway, is the school nursing for new grads? Anyway I don't know how to PM you, but I am going to figure out and do it. I will try it, thanks

And I forgot to mention, I did try and still trying HHC hospitals , most of them said that they are on Freeze. Bellveue, woodhull and Kingscounty opens selected Psych position, but very hard even to be considered for this positions. But i am applying actively online and in person. I got a few contacts who felt sorry for me and willing to help me when positions open. Anyway, I am still here.......waiting, praying, wishing.....

Ok, I am unable to PM you X0S4eva! I tried everything, but i get info that you are still online though!!may be because I joined all nurses less than a month , I do not have privilege.Anyway, how much did you pay for ACLS/PALS at wyckoff????

I don' remember how much I paid I've been doing the renewal for ages. Just call Wyckoff and ask them for the number to the training center. I love the way they taught me and it was very helpful versus other horror stories that I've heard. Don't be discoruaged about Wyckoff, keep trying and you just might get a position with them anyway. If you wait 2 or 3 months, brush up on your math and meds and try again. If you need any help as far as brushing up please let me know we might be able to meet and study. :)

the questions to ask the provider is "Will I get an American Heart Association card?" and

"is this a AHA training center?"

Insist on knowing this. "partner" can mean too many things. You can also check with AHA by phone or online to verify whether or not the provider is AHA approved.

Thanks you guys, I will just follow your advice!!

Does NY state not have any continuing ed. or inservice programs for healthcare providers? Still would need to pay for the classes, but should be less expensive.. Contact AHA for local classes/instructors. Many hospital based classes will allow non-employees to take class for a fee..

Call the American Heart Association themsevles and ask if they're "partners" with this company.

Also, if you are looking for a AHA course, call them. The course listing on their website is often out-of-date, but if you call, they're happy to give you a list of classes over the phone or by e-mail. Their website showed no PALS classes for the rest of the year in my area, but after calling them, AHA sent me a list of 8 places offering classes that month.
