Today at Wrongway Regional Medical Center, Joint Commission Surveyors ruled that personal bottles of hand sanitizer are a choking hazard.

But worry not:

No kidding.

Ever hear of such a thing?

This thread is hilarious, but troubling at the same time. I don't know whether to laugh or cringe.. maybe both!

Hey, why stop at hand sanitizer! Caps on syringes, caps on vials, caps for IV's. Man, hospitals are dangerous places, I tell you. Good thing you have management (and mock reviewers) to help you see the light. After all, we wouldn't want our patients to choke on a wayward cap. (Never mind that drinking the sanitizer is actually more likely)

My eye is twitching over the lunacy of this!

Good one!! :roflmao:

Goodbye common sense- it was nice while it lasted.

I am not making this up!

Is it me, or is it 5 'o clock in the morning and I've fallen into Bizarro World?

OK America, you really, really need to build that wall but completely around yourself not just on your Southern border.

The reason? I'm afraid that whatever madness you have and are currently displaying in this post may be catching.:cheeky::roflmao:

UK seems to follow the US when it comes to medical and nursing things and if you are introducing this nonsense I for one don't want it here - our management are barmy enough.:no::sarcastic:

I haven't read all the comments, but what about the little red caps we cap off IV tubing with? Or the end caps on any type of IV or catheter, for that matter? Or a pea on their supper tray? Geeeesh.

Maybe if patients families did not bring every member of their family into visit, including the toddlers who crawl all over the floor, or bed etc this would not be problem.

JC just needs to find something to complain about or they will be out of a job, time for them to go, they get more ridiculous every year!

THIS is why we no longer use the Joint Commission. Why PAY them to tell us everything they think we do wrong? We use state, now.
