Challenging the LVN test in CA

Does anyone know if the test can be challenged in CA? Or suggestions of where to go to find out? Thanks so much.

I know that a medic in the military can challenge the test. We had a girl in our class who decided not to do that because she felt she needed the program in order to pass NCLEX, but it is possible with the right experience. I think you can find the information on the bvnpt (board of vocational nurses and psychiatric tech) website. Try googling it?

Looks like you have to have served in the military for at least 12 months in an applicable field or somehow have 51 months paid bedside nursing experience and taken pharmacology.

I have heard that CNAs can challenge the exam out there with 5 years of med-surg or bedside experience and a pharmacology course. However, they are limited to work only in CA, no reciprocacy (sorry if the spelling is wrong).

Personally, I'd rather take the course.
