I have been a nurse in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for 11 years. My advice is to not relocate here until you have earned your BSN degree and accrued some more work experience.

With an associate degree and three months of nursing home experience, your options for employment will be limited. You are asking about the best place to work in Texas when your current qualifications would not prompt a callback.

Dallas is a BSN-preferred town if you are a new grad seeking work at any of the local hospital systems. Only the associate degree nurses with extensive experience in an in-demand specialty such as ICU, OR, ER, or L&D are securing hospital employment. If you relocate here, you could probably secure a job in home health, LTC, or hospice.

Houston is also a BSN-preferred city for new grads who wish to secure hospital employment.
