Becoming an RN after obtaining my MPH

Nurses General Nursing

So, I've decided to go back to school and become a nurse. It's always been something that I've wanted to do but there was always some sort of life event that forced me to hold off on it. I have a Master's degree in Public Health and because of my already ridiculous amount of student loan debt, I am choosing to take the route of community college and obtain my associates in nursing.

My question is, are there any others that have chosen this route? I always see MPH after RN or many people choose to attend an accelerated 2nd degree BSN program but I'm in a position where I have to work and I simply can't afford any of the accelerated BSN programs. I have 2 small children and I'm the head of household financially.

I would like to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. Did you feel that you had to get a bachelor's in nursing (in terms of having better job opportunities/ pay) even with a Bachelors/ Masters degree in another field? What kind of nursing careers did you go into?

Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
