  1. Yes, we should all keep each other updated, we may be in the same class *fingers crossed*. I took my HESI this morning (I know super duper last minute) but I did well and will be handing in my petition on Monday (the deadline lol). I hope we all get in!
  2. Hey I am also applying for the spring 2019 program. I already have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Public Health and have decided to become an RN. I met with an advisor and was told that they take the GPA from the most recent school you attended or took pre-req's at. I'm getting ready to take the HESI in a few days (I know I waited until last minute :/). Hopefully I do well so that I'm good to petition come September. How was the exam? It's only English and Math that we are tested on, right? The study guide has anatomy and physiology material etc. - I got nervous lol just making sure.
  3. So, I've decided to go back to school and become a nurse. It's always been something that I've wanted to do but there was always some sort of life event that forced me to hold off on it. I have a Master's degree in Public Health and because of my already ridiculous amount of student loan debt, I am choosing to take the route of community college and obtain my associates in nursing. My question is, are there any others that have chosen this route? I always see MPH after RN or many people choose to attend an accelerated 2nd degree BSN program but I'm in a position where I have to work and I simply can't afford any of the accelerated BSN programs. I have 2 small children and I'm the head of household financially. I would like to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. Did you feel that you had to get a bachelor's in nursing (in terms of having better job opportunities/ pay) even with a Bachelors/ Masters degree in another field? What kind of nursing careers did you go into? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
