I'm interested to know how long you were off work. My mom was back to work in two weeks, but she works in an office. Is it longer for nurses due to nature of work? Thanks in advance!

I was back to work after 1 week - desk job. Couldn't resume anything strenuous for 6 weeks I believe.

Had one done and was off for 6 weeks. I worked in a hospital at the time and the md wanted to be sure there wouldn't be any problems. I had some complications because they decided to try using a new internal suture on me and it kept going through the skin, but that was only a minor irritation. The hospital I worked at didn't want me back until I could lift.

I had one, but had complications, huge dose of pancreatitis/pseudocyst. I'll not say how long it took me to get better though. Every other post here have it right, 6 weeks for floor nurses, 2 weeks for desk duty.
