Not the most "critical" topic, but what shoes/clogs/whatever have you found to be the most comfortable to wear on those long 12+ hr shifts?
Thanks,
Grace (whose feet are really starting to hurt)
I work on a busy telemetry floor and as a new grad, my feet hurt all the time. I was wearing just some white nikes that I had had during school. I switched to Nike running shoes and have had no pain for the last 5 months. Totally makes a difference....but everyone is different. I myself can't wear clogs...I just don't get good support. :monkeydance: Gotta find the shoes that keep you moving!
I have to go with the danskos....I have the crocks. I just worried about the splatter factor, but that's just because of the specific unit where i work. I like the danskos because my feet, legs, back haven't hurt a day since I got them. and the "clogs" cover my entire foot. the leather isn't permeable, so i can just brush them off. hope it helps.
I wear a pair of Nike Shox. I have one for work and a pair for everyday. You can customize them at Nike.com
And here I am thinking all smuggly..that I found the God send shoe
I bought Nike Shox on a whim (I am a sneaker freak..have way too many pairs). I got them for 1/2 price and geeezzzz!! I love these babies. They are the only sneaker, shoe I can wear for hours and hours walking around and not be counting the minutes till I can take them off.
I actually found all white Nike Shox, I was just about to do a customized order..
Only thing with the Nike Shox is you have to try them on. Since I have one pair in one size and figuring i"d be the same size in a different fabric/style. I was wrong. I needed a size 1 1/2 bigger than the other pairs I have.
They run about $100 but are soooo well worth it...in my opinion anyway
For me, Dansko shoes are the best! I've had my pair for over two years; well worth the money. I work in a busy ED and am constantly running around - it's almost as if all the pressure is relieved from my feet, and I never feel the need to shift my weight from one foot to another. I never have leg or back fatigue whatsoever (both during my shift as well as at the end of my shift). I got my shoes from zappos.com (http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/8305428/c/11366.html); they offer free shipping both ways, so if they don't fit you can easily return them.

My absolutely favorite all-time nursing shoes are from Wal-Mart (Tredsafe) and cost under $19.
But I just tried to get another pair, and they are no longer available....they ARE available in black, but I want WHITE! Not a chance........I may CRY!!!!
:crying2:
Now I have to find another pair that make 13 hour days easy on the body....and shell out some more $$, from what I'm seeing.
Sob...
