Just a quick question :

What causes/possess a person w/ Alzheimer dementia to curse like a saylor? I have heard a woman - sweetest, kindest woman B4 she got this go APE! Is there something in our brains that goes hay-wire & triggers a subconsious (sp?) cursing area of the lobe when someone develops this awlful illness?

Things that make me go "Hmmm!"

What is interesting to me is that there are so many different kinds of dementia. I have a sixteen year old that has Down's Syndrome, Autistic and is now blind. At age 7 she started "losing it" and now she no longer signs, doesn't know who I am and is meaner than a snake :-) The kind of dementia that she appears to have does not affect her expected lifespan as do other forms of dementia...interesting stuff.

communication must be very difficult - l have at work some materail on this type of dementia

We had a resident who was in her 50's in our dementia house who had come to us after the disbility home she was in couldnt cope with her any longer.

It must be very hard for you

What sort of managment strategies do you use for her.
