:) Hello, I'm new to posting but not really new to the board. I want to start off by saying hello to everyone, I hope all is well. I'm in my final month of lpn school hoping to try for my ADN through distance learning, after doing some extensive research I decided on Excelsior College, I went through their website but could not find anything on gen. edu course.....I do not have college credit, I would really appreciate it if someone take a minute to list the gen. edu courses for me. Its been like 1month since I put in for information for their program and I havent heard from them yet.

hi chenel, i too am thinking about excelsior. i'm kinda torn between that and indiana state university (lpn to bsn) program. anyway, i would also need all my general courses. here's a link with the outline> ec course cost or http://www.excelsior.edu/pdf/adn_costs_brochure.pdf
BTW, Chenel. I too asked for some info. It's been a few weeks, but it doesn't surprise me that it's taken you that long too. Let me know what you find out, and what are your plans on taking your first course.

I'm looking at my transcript as I type this but keep in mind that I graduated in Nov.2003 and requirements can change over time. You will need:
The 7 written nursing exams
Anatomy/Physiology I and II
Microbiology
English Composition (not literature or anything like that)
Child and Lifespan Development
Various electives that must fit into specific categories such as another science or math course, social sciences such as psych or sociology, and humanities
CPNE
Altogether about 60 credits of coursework.
Hope this gives you a general idea but you definitely need the actual catalog to see what you need more in depth.

Greetings List - For any of you who are interested, I think I still have a copy of "What Should I Take." This was a list of all reqirements for the ASN at Excelsior and includes recommended courses and where to get the credit for the lowest cost. It gives a listing of the ECE, CLEP, or DANTES exam which will meet each requirement. It was designed by some of the members of RNStudyGroup and some of the other Excelsior yahoo groups. PM me if you would like a copy and I will try to dig it up. Please make sure you include the email addy that you would like for me to use when sending the list.
regards - Bill

Hi there. If you to the Excelsior website and look under the nursing handbook they have everything you need to know in there. You can also request material and they will send it to you for free. They have all the info you need in there. Let me know if you have any trouble.
