Concerns about acceptance into nursing school because of GAD.

Hello all!
I'm going to be applying into nursing school in a couple of weeks. My question is for people who are already in nursing school or RNs who were once in my situation. I have General Anxiety Disorder that is being treated. Will my disorder hinder my chances of being accepted?
Thanks

I once suffered from depression AND GAD, while in my junior year of nursing school. I had to sit out for 8wk mini-session. I came back to school and I finished what I started. So no, it shouldn't if you are able to meet the standards of performance as outlined by your program. You also are not required to disclose this to anyone, unless you will need accommodations (which would need to have endorsement by your HCP).
There are PLENTY of ppl with GAD, both diagnosed and undiagnosed RNs, NPs, MDs, etc. Understand that nursing school generates anxiety even without the disorder. I hope that you have a great support system and positive outlook on your ability to do this. Because...you CAN do this. Hope this helps.
