Let me tell you, a GED is EQUAL to a high school diploma. Do not allow anyone to tell you anything else. I dropped out of high school in freshman year, moved out of my house (yay for addicted mommies who can't handle their crap), and worked until I was 22. Since my mom was holding all of my ID documents hostage (no joke), and I was too naive to realize there were some other avenues to getting my documents, I didn't get my GED until I was 23 (yay for daddies who are great daddies). Took about 3 weeks, studied, and passed. Got into college no problem. Did my pre-reqs, and I'm in nursing school now.

Hi! I was wondering if any of the nurses with a GED could help me.
I am currently in classes to get my GED and I've just purchased the 2017 GED book to also help me. I turn 18 in January and I'll be trying my first attempt on the GED tests.
I really want to become a Nurse and I would love to get a Bachelors degree in Nursing. I plan on starting General Education next fall ( the prerequisites to the nursing prerequisites)
and I am very excited. But I want to know if it is possible. I am not trying to be mean but I would like to know if anyone in the last five years got their GED and became an RN ? Only because of today's society. Thank you very much.
You are probably wondering why I dropped out of high school, boyfriend reasons. At least I am being honest. I don't want to get into the whole story but he left to a different city and so I stopped because I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. He came back and I worked for a year and all of a sudden I told myself that I was going to go back to school. That it would be better to get it all out of the way now then later, so I don't regret it. I don't want to regret anything and if I can get it done I will. So please help me.
I live in Arizona if that helps.
Thanks again !
