YAY!!!! I got my acceptance email from GCU today!!! I am so excited to start classes in May! I'm so glad that I will be at St. Joes hospital. Who else got in?
Congratulations! Trust me, the waiting is the worst part! I am in level 1 and starting my second 8 weeks Tuesday. The first week was really hard to get used to because it is not at all like prerequisites. Where will your classes be?
I would not suggest taking both in your first 8 weeks. If you can't take the one in July, then just take it like GCU schedules you. 1st in block 1 and 2nd in block 4.
I certainly wish that more people in the program had responded as well when I was looking for information. (Especially when you have 20 chapters to read before the first day of class and no book list!)
Oh my! Ya I am pretty nervous! I am at the At Still campus, but the first 8 weeks we are at John C Lincoln. I knew there would be alot of reading! Is the information hard? My friend finished her first semester at u of a and she was at first overwhelmed and then it seemed to get better. Did you spend alot of time on class? The schedules I've heard about doesn't seem too bad. Should I try and do anything to prepare this summer? I saw what you said about the math...ah its scary to start!
Also, what is the policy for missing or making up clinical and class time? As I said before the first 8 weeks we go to a different campus, that is about 40 miles from me. I am praying for no issues commuting, but like this morning awful accidents on the 60 and 10 cause massive delays, even at 6 in the morning!
Can anyone in the program at St Joes give me an idea about how the hours are for the 1st and 2nd block? I know the schedule is probably all over the place, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi! I'm starting Level 3 in the St. Joe's program. As far as the schedule for Levels 1 and 2, they try to keep classes and clinicals to M,T,Th,F. The problem is, you have to be completely flexible in your schedule, but you will have weekends "off" in Levels 1 and 2! (I put that in quotes because all your time not spent in class or clinicals is spent studying.)
We have, unfortunately, lost some really great people both in level 1 and 2. The program has been very challenging and also very rewarding. My husband has been very supportive. My life pretty much consists of reading, assignments, and studying!

Hi GCUJen!
I just got accepted to the fast track for the fall. Which level are you in now? How was the first semester? I am so nervous to start, and so grateful that someone who is farther along in the program has responded! I wish I could take UNV303 and the Christian worldview before but I think only 1 is starting in July. I am thinking about taking them both in the first 8 weeks of level 1, before the clinicals start. But yes please continue with your advice!!!! I know I need it! Thank you!!
