Gateway LPN Fast Track question..

Published

Specializes in CNA.

I am looking over the Gateway website for the LPN fast track and under pre-reqs it just says:

Prerequisites

Credits

NUR158

Nurse Assisting

6

Website: http://nursing.gatewaycc.edu/Programs/FastTrackPracticalNurse/Certificate.htm

Is that honestly the only pre-req or am I missing something??

Also, does it matter if you got your CNA somewhere else or does it have to be with them?

Also, anyone know what the gateway wait list is currently?

Thanks

(I research so many schools and then I seem to forget everything.. I probably knew all this at some point in the last year but I have forgotten)

The only pre-req for the LPN Fastrack is the CNA... it doesn't matter where you got it. If not through them they just require more "proof" or your actual CNA number from the State.

Techically they don't really have a wait list but admissions says its about 1 1/2 years.

How is that??? Didn't you apply in October and get into January???

Yeah.. I had thought it was a lottery? It seems like technically you could apply every semester for the rest of your life and never get in. I wonder how they figure 1 1/2 years..

A lot of people that applied in October didn't get in. I just got lucky in the lottery pick. Thank God!

They did mention a few hold overs getting places before the batch of October applications, but never mentioned a waitlist. However, when you call admissions you get a whole other story with a long wait.

Makes sense.....
