Just thought I would start a new thread about Galen. Anything and everything Galen can be posted here! Please feel free to share, or ask questions!

I am still waiting on my acceptance letter, and am going crazy:bugeyes:! Hopefully, I will be starting July 27th.:yeah:

Hi everyone! We just received out Nanco shirts in the mail. They are even stiffer than the blue scrubs that we got from Cardinal Uniform. We purchased our stethoscopes from them for $16 and they seem to be pretty nice!

Specializes in none yet!.

They're so stiff, they can stand on their own! I wonder what's with the extra piece of fabric I found in the pockets.

Hey slmcdo05! I haven't ordered my NanCo top yet. I went on the website and saw that the price is $34. Does that include the white scrub pants or is the top by itself $34? Just wondering. Thank you! :)

Lasdrs07: unfortunately, it's just the top.

Thank you krltdy! I figured it might just be the top, but wanted to make sure.

You are right Krltdy, the shirts can stand on their own! I really hope that a few washes and some fabric softener will help. I don't get the extra piece of fabric in the pocket either! You should see the men's shirt from Nanco; it is like a labcoat with a zipper down the front. My husband's almost goes to his knees!

Lori,

I tried to respond to the message that you sent me yesterday, but apparently I was not able to reply directly from the message; the mail came back as undelivered. Yeah like krltdy said, the shirt is $34! We don't have to have a labcoat, that is for the RN program. I am going to go back to Cardinal Uniform and get my white pants to go with my clinical shirt. Nanco is too expensive. I thought that the Nanco shirt was going to be made out of nicer material, since it costs so much, but it is worse than the Cardinal Uniform scrubs. Also, as far as we have been told so far, we do not need a blood pressure cuff.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Does anyone who is attending Galen know if you are not going to get credits transferred if you have to have the transcripts from your previous college or not I am not sure if I will be able to get mine from my old school since I'm paying back a loan so i was just wondering if I would be able to go or not i did get a unoffical copy though

If you only have unofficial transcripts, I do not think they will give you credit. I am attending Galen and I have a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field, and they have no problem accepting my credits because i sent them official sealed transcripts from my old university. Maybe if you explain your situation, they will make an exception- i'm not sure though. Good luck!

I don't want none of the credits transferred they done told me that they would not accept them because they don't accept Spencerian so i just didn't know if I would need to have a offical transcript

Oh sorry, I misunderstood- If you don't want your credits transferred I doubt you'd need an official transcript. Just call someone in admissions tomorrow morning and they can give you a for sure answer, they're very helpful.

Thanks I am going to call I am just really wanting ot get in I was supposed to start back at Spencerian tomorrow but then was told friday that I would not be able to go until the loan to them was paid off so now I am trying to figure out what to do next to get in to Galen.

Hi jsadler! When I applied to Galen I asked them if they wanted a copy of my U of L transcript and they said no. For the LPN program, they only care to see your high school transcript and your ACT scores if you have them. If you don't have recent ACT scores then you will have to take the CPAT test which is very easy.

They schedule you for that once you turn in your application. They don't look at your college transcripts until you get ready to start the RN program. If you don't want any credits transferred in, then it won't matter.

Also, for future reference, you can get an official transcript from a school even though you are paying student loans. I am still paying student loans from when I attended U of L and JCC, but I had no problem getting official transcripts from them. You just have to pay for them.
