Anyone beginning at Galen, St. Pete in April 2020?

Thinking about applying and starting in July. How difficult was it to get accepted?

Not difficult. I took the PAX. Got a 151. Had a few previous college courses transfer in. Smooth process! Today was day 1 of classes and online classes are going to be a handful I think. (At least with suddenly homeschooling 2 kids).

Well congratulations! I did a virtual orientation/admissions meeting yesterday. So hopefully everything goes smoothly. How often are you going to campus?

So glad I found a more recent thread for Galen!! I'm going through the application process currently, just finished the FAFSA and hoping to start in July. Are the online classes rigorous or would you say they're pretty normal?

Hi, I'm Jen, I'm starting in July. I'm pretty excited. Not happy that some of my classes didn't transfer in but no big deal, a refresher will be good. AleaKay, are you starting in July?

Yes! That is the plan. I’m hoping all of my credits transfer ? I have everything turned in except my LPN transcripts that I need to mail. I plan to do that Monday. I’m wondering how long it will take to complete with my credits transferred

Oh good! That is so exciting and nice to find someone who is in the same boat! Awesome you have LPN behind you! I have to retake A&P 1 and college math since mine are over 5 years old. I'm sure will have a few classes together ? With this whole stay at home order I can't get started fast enough! I've already completed my student orientation LOL. Let me know if you need anything ?

A few of the girls I graduated LPN school with will also be starting in July! We have pretty fun study groups if you are interested! My A&P 1 expires next year so I’m hoping they don’t try and make me retake it! New student orientation? Like you already have your classes signed up?

I'd love to be a part of the study group! Thanks!! I don't think you will have any issues with your class transferring in. They said as long as it isn't more than 5 years you should be good. No classes yet but after you pay your registration fee and background check, they set you up with new student orientation online. It's easy, it just shows you how to get around online and where to find things. Regarding your first semester classes they will register you for those between weeks 7-9 of the current semester. From the 2nd semester on you will need to register yourself. It's all been pretty easy so far and they are very organized. I Look forward to meeting you ?

That sounds pretty easy!! I’m super excited to start!

We have FB groups in case you all have any questions. One for ADN and one for BSN respectively. Congratulations.
