Do you gain or lose weight while working? I would think that because nurses are always on their feet and moving around a lot with minimal breaks for eating, People would drop a lot of weight or maintain a slim physique easily. IS this true?

Gained. I usually do take a lunch break and usually pack my own lunch, but I'm ravenous again by the time I get home. And then there's the sweets. They are my kryptonite. I work in a level 1 trauma SICU so have lots of grateful families who give us "thank you" treats (esp. between October and December.) Ignoring them in the break room is like ignoring an itch. :o

Last summer I lost 8 lbs in a month just by cutting out most of my sugar consumption, though. I made cupcakes with almond flour and stevia, sweetened unsweetened baking chocolate with stevia, swapped out flavored coffee syrup for baking extracts (vanilla, hazelnut, almond, peppermint etc.), ate fat free Greek yogurt with frozen berries instead of ice cream. I'm getting back on that wagon now though, and plan to have some of my own sweets on hand for when temptation strikes.

When I worked the floor, I lost 10 pounds. Since gained back 8 with my desk job.

It's always someone's birthday, Christmas, valentine's day, Easter, it's Friday.....the treats never end.
