FYI:People do pass who run out of time...

Published

My friend just found out she passed. Her computer shut off at 235 because she ran out of time - she used the whole 6 hours. She was pretty sure that it was a sign that she failed. We read in Kaplan that the computer will analyse that last 60 questions of the test if you run out time and base their decision on that.

so for those of you who run out of time, dont despair.

Good luck.

It gets tougher when you run out of time, because your ability estimate (how well the computer thinks you're doing) has to remain above passing after each of the last sixty questions. It's definitely possible to pass.

Note that this doesn't mean they just "grade the last sixty" as we sometimes hear. The ability estimate is updated after each question and it takes into account every scored question up to that point.

Example: If you run out of time at 200, then the computer looks at the ability estimates after Q's #141 through 200. However, your ability estimate for 141 includes scored questions from #1-141, the ability estimate for 142 looks at scored questions from 1-142, and so on.

I ran out of time at around 210 and found out today Ifailed. I am so depressed.
