FY2014 Navy Nurse Corps Direct Accession

Hi everyone. I am trying to join the Navy Nurse Corps for FY 2014 (Oct. 2013). I know this is a bit early for a thread like this but I plan on beginning my package in January 2013 to allow maximum time to perfect my application kit. I will be graduating with my BSN May 2013 and plan on taking NCLEX shortly after. I am hoping my kit will be triple checked before I submit it to the board. I am in the process of contacting a healthcare recruiter is San Diego right now and hopefully get stuff moving along. I just wanted to post this thread for others that are also planning on applying for FY2014 commissioning. I will be sharing information as the process goes along so you guys can get an idea of timeframe of events. I know I have been on all these similar threads trolling for answers in the hopes of adequate preparation.. Hope to meet some of you with similar goals soon :yes: Kim

I heard from my Navy Processor today, he said that the Navy is Not accepting any applications for the Nurse Corps Program, they "MAY" have opening later in the year or even next FY, but at this time no openings.

Goodluck everyone! Keep on hoping, it will come in time, It's worth waiting!

I have been talking with an AF recruiter and pretty much the only options we have is to give up, wait on the Navy's maybes, or switch branches with a better chance of going in.

All the decisions...there is still no guarantee that FY 2015 that they will take DA. Is anyone else going through it and over the uncertainty?

My recruiter emailed me to tell me that the DA goal was zero. Therefore, no boards 2014 and questionable 2015. I told her i've known that since Dec. So I guess I move on....LoL.

I applied to the NCP twice only to have my recruiter screw up my package both times. Was planning on applying to the DA boards in October. I am going to give my recruiter a call tomorrow (if they even answer me). Where is all the information coming out about no DA for FY15?

Just curious to know if anyone will be resubmitting another kit this upcoming fiscal year. For some of us, we were given the news of no accession this fiscal year. Hope to hear from you.

I believe we are going through the same recruiter. I am in the VA area. I am curious to know if you are going to resubmit your kit. I am certainly planning to, in hopes that it will work out in the end. I hope to hear from you soon.

Anyone here from the Los Angeles area? Hopefully all works out..spoke with my recruiter and he said the board will be meeting this Oct..im finishing up my kit, jus finished the physical at MEPS..just have to pray for now

I'm just relaxing. My recruiter said she'll submit my packet when she hears anything. For now, I am doing a little travel nursing.
