  1. I heard there was a May board???
  2. Hey, rrockstar88 I am a new grad and just got hired on at an IHS facility. I graduated in June and started to aggressively apply in October. It took a while but I finally got a phone interview and was hired, well conditionally. I have to pass all the required federal background and finger print checks. Just keep applying on usajobs.gov, I hear the OK IHS really needs nurses, they called after I had already started the process with Navajo facility. It takes a while to hear back once an application is submitted.
  3. They do hire new grads, I graduated in June and just now (maybe) got hired with IHS. It takes forever!!! Now is a good time to apply tho b/c the new fiscal year just started in October. I will be living off rez, so hopefully there won't be any problems with housing. From what I have heard most NA are thankful for the service that nurses provide, but of course I do not yet have experience.
  4. Hi Scott, Thanks for answering! I think I will be working there, so I am trying to find a place to live right now. I am thinking Cortez, CO but am having trouble finding places for rent. How is the drive to the hospital? Are the roads good/bad, does it snow alot? Thanks for any info! :D
  5. I am moving from the Denver metro area, CO so i know snow :) And you made me laugh about saying that the mountains are on the east, b/c I truly do navigate by where the mountains are, always on the west tho that is going to be hard to get used to.
  6. Nice, do you mind me asking what unit you will be working on?
  7. So scottlgarrett, How do you like it so far? Where did you end up living? I may be working there also but not sure. Any info would be great!
  8. Thanks for replying Just Jen RN! I am going to be working at UNMH. I was wondering if you know how the environment there is for nurses? And, any suggestions on where a good place to live would be?
  9. Thanks for replying jjnRN! No, this will be my first hospital job, however I did have a previous career in human service field.
  10. Bortaz, RN Thanks for responding! I have a phone interview for PICU and was wondering if they have some sort of orientation for new grad. I mean, they have to right, hopefully! Also, would it be possible to live in the area around south padre island? Is that a better place to live than Edinburg?
  11. Bortaz, RN Have you heard anything about the children's hospital in Edinburg??
  12. Hello, I was wondering if anyone had heard of Edinburg Children's hospital in south Texas? I know it is in an undesirable location but was wondering if anyone knows anything about the hospital environment for RNs? Any info is appreciated!
  13. Hi Everyone, This might be a little late but I was wondering if anyone works at Edinburg Children's Hospital or knows what the RN environment is like down there? How is the town? Is it possible to live outside of town and commute?? Any info helps!
  14. Hello ALL! I am a new grad and just got a job offer to work in ABQ NM. I was wondering if anyone out there lives in ABQ and can give me some advice about living and working there? What would be a good place to live for a 30yr old female who is single with no family? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance
  15. Hello ALL, I am a new grad and was offered a position at UNMH. I was wondering if there is anyone who works there, knows about the hospital, the environment, nursing satisfaction rates and new grad res program.
