Hello from a new member!!! I am really enjoying browsing this board.
I know interviews started this week at Kaiser. Has anyone here interviewed? If so, how did it go? Mine is next week, I think I'm probably last. Any responses from future or current students would be great!
Thanks!
Many classes have chosen to get together before the Jr./Sr. party in the past as that party isn't held until the 1st or 2nd week of school. (Depending if you are a jr or sr which week it is for you.)
Our class got together at a BJ's Brewery in Burbank, I think. Maybe it was Glendale. But it was central.
As for the looking to live in the Valley, I'd say, not. The chances of being more than a month or 2 at either Woodland Hills or Panarama City are slim. I would suggest somewhat closer to LA. Not necessarily the west side, tho 'cuz there is only 1 clinical site on the west side.
Glendale, Pasadena, Arcadia, Burbank are all good. Even Simi Valley or Chatsworth would be better as it is off the Hwy 118 and not the 101.
I will graduate in August and my car now has 140,000 miles on it. '98 Maxima. Several of my peers have even more.
I have been to 18 clinical sites so far and am not done. I live in Ventura; my next clinical site is in San Diego Navy. Can't get much further than that! Was in Riverside for 5 months (3.5-4 hours away).
My whole point is, be prepared to travel extensively. Get very little sleep, or do what I did and stay in hotels. Thankgoodness for a supportive spouse!
oh, by the way, congrats on getting in!

I've met a few of the people who are going to be in our class....all pretty cool. I think the Junior class will throw some kind of ice-breaker party for us right before school starts. We can meet the classmates ahead of us and ask them questions about what to expect for school. I'll be there for sure and I recommend everyone else from our class to show up too. Our class looks solid. Everyone's psyched up. It's going to be a good year....
See you all in the end of August!
