I guess you have to think about when you think you want to start to work full time rather then part time. If you think you want to get rolling on a full time job anytime soon then maybe this would be a great time to get that full time position on the unit you now are working at. On the other hand if you are liking the part time and think this is the way to go for you for quite some time then stick with the part time. I'd just would hate for you to kick yourself 6 months down the road here wishing you took that full time position in the unit you now are in when you had the chance.

Hello!
I just started a part-time position on my unit, my first job position since coming off my new graduate position, and I have also just applied for 2 full time postings on my unit. I am now debating if I should even take a full time posting if offered, or just continue in my part time posting. I have used the majority of my benefits over the last 6 months during my temporary full time position, and I am young and don't necessarily need the benefits right now. Also, with the part time position I will be making more per hour, will have more opportunity to pick up shifts and overtime, and thus I will also gain seniority hours more quickly. The negative is not having a set schedule. What other factors should I take into consideration? What are other pros and cons to each position? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
