How many of you out there are in a position where you have to work full time in order to support yourself, yet you are attempting to go to nursing school at the same time? I am doing that currently, and I must admit to being overwhelmed. I am unsure how I'm going to participate in clinicals AND work full time at the same time. Anyone else in this position? Is there anyone out there who has done this before? Encouraging words would be very much appreicated at this point. :-) Thanks!

I have to work and go to school full time no rich husband/boyfriend :chuckle no family support and i have all the responsibility of living on my own. I work 8-5 right now but when i start school full time in the summer i will be working at a local hospital full time as a PRN Patient Care Tech (PCT) as a PRN i will have a very flexible schedule and they know i am going to school to be a RN so there are pretty flexible. I use to do night and weekend classes and work 8-5 but i have decided to change it up a bit. My best advice would be to make out a schedule and stick to it. I had classes M/W/F & Sat so i had to have some kind of schedule to keep me on track it helps ..i wrote down everthing from take 15min break at 10pm to wake up early and finish writing paper etc. I know it seems like hell and i am not going to lie it is... just remember it will be over one day. there has to be a light an the end ...right??:)

Chin up & keep pushing forward

I am doing it now, and let me tell you its a pretty miserable existance, but I have no choice. My employer has allowed me to modify my schedule for school and clinicals. I am in a part time program which is 2.5 years in length. I have a little less than 2 years to go and am counting down until spring break!!!!! I am living week by week, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! God luck to all!!!!1
