Full/part time?

Been browsing through job postings at the major Boston facilities and seem to be finding a lot of 36 hr/week, part-time positions. Is this the norm in Boston, and how much of an effect does being "part time" affect benefit eligibility/cost (and anything else, for that matter)? Thanks!

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia.

36 hours a week is full-time employment in most markets. 3 x 12-hour shift = 36 hours

I realize that, that's why I asked about these positions that are listed as 36 hours but specifically marked as part time.

That's strange. I had a 36hr/week job and it was definitely benefits eligible. Where exactly are you seeing it..?

When I worked in the hospital (not one of the aforementioned but another Boston hospital), full-time benefits were granted at 30 hrs.

Received an email from a BWH recruiter, all of their non-40-hour/week positions are classed as part time but anything >20 hours/week is eligible for benefits. Hopefully that helps someone down the line.
