FSW Spring 2018

Published

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

Hi Everyone! I am just now finding this forum and I'm so glad I did. I applied on Sept 19 with hopes of starting Spring 2018 as a Traditional student at the Collier campus as my first option. I applied with a total of 72 points (I'm currently finishing micro now didn't want to wait!). You guys I AM SWEATING BULLETS... I spoke to a nursing advisor who said we will all be informed during the first 2 weeks of Novemeber. I'm hopeful for everyone of us!

Hi AnnaRose, my name is Jessica and I'm a hopeful candidate for the traditional schd for Collier, Spring 2018. I heard we will be finding out in the next two weeks! Best wishes for you!

Welcome to the forum! Do you live in Naples?

One of the advisers said to be on the lookout for an email around November 8th

I'll be obsessing til then! í ½í¸ best wishes!!!

It's now after the application deadline. If anyone knows the acceptance range earlier, please inform us ;)

Hi Everyone,

I applied for the Spring 2018 ANEW program, and wanted to jump in now that the application has closed! I applied with 75 points with the following campus preferences: Lee, Collier, and Charlotte. I'm so excited to hear back, but I feel as though these next few weeks will drag on. Good luck everyone!

Hey, welcome to the discussion! Thanks for sharing that with us! I was wondering when they were going to get back to us since the application period was extended. I like the idea of finding out before Thanksgiving.

I'll be obsessing til then! best wishes!!!

Lol, Yes I've been trying to occupy myself with other things for the past few weeks to keep my mind off of it, which is why I haven't posted on here for a while. It's getting closer now and I'm getting anxious...

Welcome Alyson,

I applied to the ANEW program and Lee as my second choice so there is a chance that we could be in the same class. 75 points is quite competitive. I'd say your chances are very good!!

Hello all,

2nd semester ANEW student here.

I just wanted to give you all a little insight into what the ANEW program is like.

As it's been mentioned, all of our lecture is online and we are required to be on campus one night out of the week from 5:30p-8:30p. Sim lab is the first few Saturdays of the semester and then either Sat or Sun clinical (your choice). You must be self motivated and on top of your due dates or you will not make it. The class is a mixture of young and old, experienced and inexperienced, people with kids, full time jobs etc...

If you are a self motivated learner then you will do great, if not, then I recommend the Traditional program.

The issue with the scheduling and the separate campuses simply comes down to having the professors to teach the courses. It is much easier to have the professors collaborate at the same campus with all of us meeting at one time than to have several professors at different campuses for only a few students. I'm sure they will face the same issue with the spring ANEW program so just be prepared.

If you are iffy about your points then give the TEAS your all, it will make up for what you lack in GPA.

Thanks for sharing your insight of the course so far. As applicants, we have lot of questions so it's nice to have current students like yourself answer some of those for us!

I don't plan to apply to the program until Fall 2018 but could someone give me a little insight on the ANEW schedule? Or know where I can find the schedule online?

Well I was applying to the Spring 2018, but wanted a better chance at getting in so I decided to wait till the fall. Which campus would you be looking at into going to? I would look at into Lee first. & If it's only 18months for the ANEW I'm possibly looking into that one.

GOODLUCK TO ALL. I will see everybody in the Fall of 2018. I decided not to apply but I will start a new forum for FALL 2018 and weiny once you get in you can come on the Forum and give us advice :) YOU got this. Totally looking into the ANEW program. I work at a hospital now so I'm sure any question I have it should be a great assist. I'll be checking back on everyone.
