FSW Fall 2019

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to get a topic started on FSW's Fall 2019 cycle. The application deadline is May 15th. Here are my stats:

When this spring semester ends, I will have taken 8 out of the 9 pre-reqs. (3.62 GPA) I plan on taking A & P II in the summer. I am also taking the TEAS for the first time in May. I am a little stressed that I'm cutting it too close to the deadline and taking the TEAS without A & P II. My #1 choice is Collier ANEW, #2 is Lee ANEW.

Anybody else out there applying for Fall?

Yes, I am so nervous. I am preparing for disappointment

Don’t worry until you have to worry. It will all work out in your favor.

Is anyone else still waiting for an email?

Yes! I am still waiting. Congrats to everyone who already found out they’re accepted though! I wonder why the emails didn’t all go out at once this year. I hope it’s not a bad sign because it’s got me even more nervous!

Well I finally got my email. I didn’t get accepted. ? At least I’m not anxiously waiting anymore I guess. I still have two prerequisites to complete out of the nine so hoping for better luck in the Spring! Good luck to everyone else!

I am still very proud of you. Please don’t be discouraged. How many points did you apply with? What are the two classes you are missing? What was your first choice?

Thank you very much, that is so kind of you! I still have Microbiology and Humanities to take. My first choice was Charlotte, then Charlotte ANEW, Lee, Lee ANEW. I am super bummed but I won’t give up. I only wish my advisor had told me to sign up for those classes back in March just in case I didn’t get accepted. I have met with her several times and I never really thought about it because I was thinking about the payment but of course I could withdraw before the semester starts had I gotten accepted. ??‍♀️ Now there’s only ONE Micro class available for fall in Hendry LaBelle (I don’t even know where that is??! I live in North Port). And is it true that I can take any humanities class to qualify for a prerequisite now? The only online humanities courses left are Renaissance and Ancient something or other. Ugh.

Great job! I wanted to see If we are spread by points or location. I live 2 miles away from Lee and they are sending me all the way up to Punta Gorda. Congratulations again and Wish you all the best!

That happened to me too. I live in Cape Coral and i got into charlotte (punta gorda) traditional. Lee was my 1st choice and Lee ANEW my 3rd. Apparently, I had charlotte as my 2nd but I don't remember even doing that because its a hour away from me ( must have clicked it on accident). I have a 3.89 GPA and a 76.7 on TEAS. I had all 9 prerequistes done with all A's and 2 B's. I don't remember my total points because I applied back in January. I accepted my seat for charlotte but I am on the wait list for Lee traditional and anew. I emailed them and they said that lee is filled up quick. So I took my seat at charlotte and will be waiting, hoping for a seat in lee. I wanted lee traditional because I have been going to lee since 2016. I reapplied for Spring at FSW hoping to get into Lee, but I am taking my seat for charlotte just incase. Don't know if it is worth it to wait for spring just for this to happen again. Was going to reapply for Spring at FGCU but agian don't know if its worth it. Might just keep charIotte if i don't get into lee, and get my ASN. Really don't want to defer more time because I am on my last year of my bright futures. Was wondering why it filled up so quickly? Do you think that everyone who didn't get into FGCU Fall applied and got in to FSW? I got declined for FGCU Fall 19, so I applied to FSW Fall 19. I have a interview for NOVA Fall 19 but they are so expensive. I want my BSN, that is why I applied to FGCU and NOVA BSN programs. I have my AA and wanted to go straight to BSN. Hate that I have to get my ASN and then get licensed to go into the BSN program at FSW. But I guess everything happens for a reason. Are you going to take charlotte campus? Congrats to everyone who got into FSW, FGCU, or Nova for Fall 2019 nursing programs!

I got accepted for Nova back in early May and will be attending! I was thinking of doing the ASN program at FSW, but like you said I didn't want to go through the entire process of ASN to BSN, I just wanted my BSN straight away so I didn't even end up applying. Loans are going to help me thank Lord and I'm so excited!

My interview for Nova is in 2 weeks. How was it? How is the Kaplan test? Is nova easier to get into then fgcu?I didn't get into fgcu for fall 19. My biggest concern for nova is being able to afford it. I have a pell grant and bright futures scholarship but that won't be enough. Didn't really want to take out loans until my MSN but if I get into Nova I might Have to. I will be working at LeeHealth as a CNA soon and I know they will pay for your education. But I don't know how much they will cover . What is the cost per semester at Nova? I know that for the year it is $27,700 but what is it each semester?

It's definitely easier to get into than FGCU. The interview process is not bad at all. Make sure to study for your Kaplan test for sure, but it is way easier than the TEAS. Per semester I'm not sure because I have yet to register for classes until registration, but I know that you have until the end of the semester to pay the tuition, not like FGCU where you have to pay all of it right then and there. And honestly it's a good program, and I'm not thinking of wasting any time:)

So this happened to me too. I was wondering if they will make us do clinicals in punta gorda area. I would prefer to have clinicals in the fort myers area because I live in Cape Coral.

No idea :/. We shall find out soon.

For those who haven’t received an email, make sure you call. I had to call today and she wasn’t sure why I didn’t get an email. I got accept for Charlotte, my first choice. Only thing I’m bombed about is that I would have to start at phase 1 even as a LPN because they have no LPN spots for Phase 2. But I am very thankful and excited to start!
