Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.
Who is joining me next fall in nursing?
I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.
I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.
Where are you finding the schedule? I looked at my portal and don't see anything...
Go to fsw homepage then go to "Programs of Study". On the left hand side go to "Class schedule". It should show two options, go to either one, pick nursing, etc then theres the schedule.
Ugh...they cant find my stupid urine test! Im alwats that special case! Lol...gotta locate and associate they say. Took it on tuesday
Oh boy, hope they find it.
Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for a while and wanted to congratulate all of you! I hope to start the part time program next fall. Would anyone be able to give me some info in regard to class and clinical hours? I would like to continue working my full time 9-5 job while in school and was wondering if it would be possible with the part time program. Thanks in advance!
Lol, they found it and cleared it with the school! Just waiting for the next letter. Spoke with *heads* and was told that she only receives a pass or decline on each student. She doesn't actually get to see any results due to hippa. But she said not to worry, the dead line to register was today and that they just wanted us to get the ball rolling. Once she gets the approval, we will be the next yo know. Ya! I was told to go ahead and do my FASFA application. But we cant register until we are officially placed into the RN program. They cancelled the NUR 1010 class, we will all be required to start with the NUR (basic nursing course)(sorry i forgot the number)Also, did y'all get the email about no longer being able to continue in the pre-programs as of august? Sucks for whoever didnt make it or those who couldnt apply yet. They have to get their AA first now...gonna mess with a lot of people's grants and financial aid money. I would be so mad, thats like back tracking, if i were already registered, i would hope the school would keep it the same and only new enrollee's would have to deal with the change! But thats just me
I think that totally sucks for people having to change their degree. One of my friends that applied and was denied already has an AA. I wonder what she is going to do now. She was bummed and now doesn't know if she is going to continue to apply to nursing.
I already did my FAFSA and was already told how much they are giving me. Now I am just ready to start. Haha
Luther, basically we pre-nursing students and our degree for financial aid purposes has to know what you are studying. However, FSW is taking that option away and no one will be pre-anything and now they all must say AA degree. If you dont switch then financial aid will not pay for it. I think they are creating more headaches and I am sure financial aid office and registrar office are going to be very busy this fall.
Ppl enrolled now, but have not been accepted into a program such as pre-nursing, pre-cardio, etc have to change their degree to an AA..fsw no longer will be doing "pre" programs..so as of august if you havnt been accepted you have to change your degree to an AA..thankfully we were and dont have to worry about it...call it GREAT timing for us:up:
