Hello everyone,
I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!
I am also in the same boat! And they are right when they say there is no way of telling if you will get in or not. I will share with you what I have gathered from other students. There are people who have gotten in with as low was 54 points it just all depends on the application pool. The program is not as competitive as they make it out to be(said by someone in the nursing office I can't remember her name.) And to widen your chances apply to more than 1 location some people leave their 2nd and third choice blank that means if they don't get first pick they will be denied all together. No matter how many points you have still apply. Also quick question how was the TEAS was it anything like the HESI?
The teas was harder, but only because of the science. The first time I found that I did great on the science but the second time not so much. Everything was reversed. All I put effort into studying this time worked out, but what I excelled in last time, not not so much. Not every test version is the same, but with myblast science score, I would have been great in this time around.
Thank you so much for answering!
I was told when they look at your transcript they will automatically pick the highest grade. Confirm this with an advisor though!
I applied also.
charlotte 1st choice
naples 2nd choice
fort Meyers 3rd choice
I am SO anxious for June 15!!! I got an email saying we will find out by the 15th. Does anyone know when they actually go out by???

This is going to be lengthy but please reply...
Does anyone know if part time or full time makes a difference in acceptance into the program?? I had applied last semester and can't quite remember what option I had chosen since I was open to both...
Now my second concern is actually getting in. My teas exam isn't as high as I would have wanted ( I only score a little above minimum everytime) and having taken Microbiology last semester, my gpa went down to a 3.4 (not too competitive, I know).
Is anyone in the same boat as me? I spoke to the dean today who told me that there really is no telling what my chances of getting in are until people apply to the program. I feel sooooo discouraged this time. Evem if I were to retake microbiology, the first score is what they'll keep and nothing else.
Please let me know what you think, and if you're looking at a low admission score, please share if you feel comfortable.
