FSW Fall 2016 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!

My mistake. But i did speak to Sandra over in the nirsing building the application for nursing will be available in April

I ended up getting a 92.7 surprisingly. It was very similar to practice tests I found online. With this I'll have 85 points which will hopefully be enough to get in at Collier.

Congrats!!!!!!!!! How was the math what did you use to study?

When will you like to meet up to study?

Yes I'm still interested

When will you like to meet up to study?

Good morning,

Are you guys still looking to form a study group for the Teas?

Could you send me a link to the practice tests you found online? I take mine on March 24!

I am planning on applying to the fall 2016 program and I'm frustrated by the lack of info on grades, scores, etc. that the school requires to get in so I'll add to the conversation by letting everyone know how I'm progressing.

Here are my current stats:

GPA: 3.66

Total # of pre-reqs (after this semester is done): 7

Teas: plan to take it this May 16'.

I bought the TEAS V study guide but its a lot of info and I plan to stay focused on my current classes and start studying hard for the TEAS after my finals. I'll be taking the last 2 pre-reqs this summer (microbio, A&P 2). If I don't get into the fall program I plan to apply again for Spring 17' but I'll need to take Statistics this fall because of the requirement change :(

I'll keep you posted on my progress and would love to hear other people's scores too.

Goodluck! And all of the info is on the website. What did yu want to know in particular maybe i can help

I wish they would announce the average scores for acceptance. They don't because they don't want to discourage applicants from applying but I wish they would to reduce my anxiety about getting accepted.

I agree but for right now you are your own competition! If you have time go read post from previous years they will give you hope. Scores as low as 54 have been accepted. With a 3.64 gpa and 7 classes completed id say you are on the right track! Good luck on the TEAS thats what will make yu or break yu. Ice decided to take it in may as well

Yeah my score right now is 64 points but I hope to bring that up after retaking the teas. It's encouraging to know people have gotten in with 54.

i have all pre reqs done. I wish they'd give more information also. I want to know the date I can start applying.

Thanks for the encouragement and best of luck to you as well!
