FSW Fall 2016 Nursing Applicants

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a thread for those of us that are planning on applying to the nursing program for fall 2016. We can post about studying for the HESI/TEASE. FSW has changed from the HESI beginning Febuary 2016, so those of you that haven't already taken it you must take the HESI before Febuary 1st. If not you will need to plan on studying for the TEASE. Application deadline is May 15th. We can post about our points, most of you know what that consist of. Students are admitted off from a point system, the higher the points the better chance you have of being selected for the program. Our points is based off how many prerequisites we have taken upon application, our gpa for those prerequisites we have taken. And finally our HESI or TEASE score. For those of you that haven't taken the HESI or TEASE we can plan a study group either online or in person. I'm a in my final class required to apply (AP I), in another school. I will have 7 courses completed upon application so that gives me 29 points for that. I have not taken the HESI yet so I don't know my points for that yet. I haven't been able to figure out my final gpa yet because I'm in this last course. But I hope to get to know some of you and I hope one day we will even be in class together!

My gpa is 3.4 and I got a 78 on the teas. Same boat. All pre reqs finished.

I just took the TEAS this morning and scored an 83. The math part was my worst because I haven't taken algebra in over 15 years and I didn't review it that much. I'm applying for fall minus 2 pre-reqs with a total point tally of 73. I'll let you all know if I get accepted and to which location. My preference is Lee, Collier, Punta. Good luck everybody!

Applied today with only 72 points. Preference 1-Lee 2-Collier 3-Punta. Fingers crossed! I wonder how many people are applying.

I scored an 83 on the Teas and applied with 7 prerequisites done all As and Bs, I'm confused by the spreadsheet though, what is the range of points you can have towards the application? And how does the gpa look when calculated, because I'm seeing really high numbers.

Also, the dean sent out a message with a link attached telling everyone there was a glitch with the Teas scores that were sent in with applications prior to May 9th, so you need to click the link to resend your Teas Score, I would do it anyway just in case even if you applied today!

I didn't realize that email went out to everyone ! I thought I did something wrong on my app. I paid extra to have my TEAS transcript sent to FSW just in case.

I paid extra also to have my teas scores sent. I only have 64 points. I'm worried it's not enough!

All of the scores on this post are relatively low I think the application pool will be low. So don't freak yourself out. We got this lol

Yeah the TEAS definitely lowered the scores in the application pool, compared to the HESI scores.

Yep definitely a lower pool. But we also have to compete against people who are allowed to use the HESI. But it's ok we got this like you said :) :)
