Anyone apply for FSU CRNA starting August of 2019??

Congratulations to all who have been accepted! I was wondering if anyone has been told they have been wait-listed?

Nothing yet

Congratulations to you all who’ve been accepted! I heard they had some of the strongest applicants they’ve seen so far, so definitely something to be proud of!

I’m hoping for the possibility of being waitlisted but also haven’t heard anything back either way.

Yup CRNA school is getting super competitive because the secret is out that it’s a good gig. Not only lucrative but also very satisfying. Keep on trying on applying. I got waitlisted to 2 schools and rejected at 1.

My stats are 3.59 GPA, GRE 309, CCRN-CMC-CSC, BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, and cardiac vascular cert. work in a big teaching hospital. Did some travel nursing. Presented on ECMO. Have experience with CRRT, impella, balloon pump, ECMO, PAC, A lines, as well as your standard vent. After college, I took a grad course in A&P, repeated an undergrad course in stats and intro biochem.

Prior to interviews, I really studied my stuff and practiced personality interview questions. A lot of people did a lot more than I did that’s why they got accepted. A lot of people are able to speak a lot better than I do- that’s why they got in.

I urge anyone to really work on getting as much certifications as they can under their belt, get that experience (especially in big teaching hospitals with the sickest patients and the most supportive devices), go to NTI, do volunteer work, etc. Make yourself the best nurse you can be through all possible channels. So when they ask you to talk about yourself and your experience in your interview, you can have something genuine and interesting to put to the table.

Good luck you guys !

Please message me if you have any questions and I’ll give as much advice as I can =D

Has anyone heard back about being waitlisted yet?

I was disappointed not to receive a phone call. But the program sent me an email today stating that decisions are still being made and final notifications won't occur until the middle of next week. I'm not sure how that squares with what was previously written in this thread that all of the phone calls were made to those accepted, but I'm still hopeful there are some spots available.

Everyone accepted has until next Wednesday to sign their letter of intent/acceptance..they are probably waiting on all of those to see if they have additional openings to offer.

No problem!! If I hear anything else I will post! Stay hopeful! Some people might choose to accept at other programs.

Alternate list for me. ? Is anyone who was accepted planning on declining if you get in somewhere else?
