Anyone apply for FSU CRNA starting August of 2019??
So, I have been an icu nurse since March. Been in icu for 3 years as extern and tech. GRE 306, GPA 3.59, Sci GPA 4.0, Nursing GPA 3.33, taking CCRN on 2/21. I actually got a rejection email a couple weeks ago. It said to email R**** with questions. I asked how competitive my app was and if I could change anything. She emailed right back with questions about my experience. I clarified that I had 2100 hours as of the deadline. She said great, expect an email from M***** sometime tomorrow with an invite for an interview. Totally caught me off guard! Got the email at 0800 and registered for the very last slot.
In the interview, I was asked a clinical question by M***** (who said she usually leaves the questioning up to others). It was more of a process question than clinical, but I made it one by accident and I think I shot myself in the foot by doing so. Anyway, everyone was totally awesome and nice...very pleasant experience overall. I felt good about the interview until I found out that they were interviewing over 70 for 24 spots.
I guess they do ask clinical type questions if they feel you might be weak. I know I probably fall short of the top 24 applicants. I’m pretty certain I won’t get in unless some of them get accepted elsewhere and decline, giving me a better shot. It was so nice of them to agree to interview me though!

Yes! throughout all this whole CRNA application process, I've applied overall to 5 schools.. I got rejected a few years ago because I didn't have 'enough' ICU experience although some of my colleagues applied and got in to schools with barely a year of ICU experience. In the fall, I interviewed and got waitlisted to 2 school and finally got accepted to this one. I have one more interview pending but not sure if I'll be able to get into that one nor do I want to go to that one. I still want to interview with them though as I paid the application fee ?
It's hard reading the rejection emails but if you really want it, you gotta keep going - keep getting clinical skills, networking around so you can ask for recommendation letters, collecting certifications, and just learning. Also, practicing interview skills. Anyone can get there! Good luck and god bless!

Thank you, I'm on the same boat! Gluck !!!
Just got an email from R**** at 10:51pm central...I love how active they are. Really wish I got accepted to this school. Don’t think other many programs are this dedicated to potential applicants to reply with a nice encouraging email so late after hours. Congrats to those that got accepted.
