FSCJ Summer 2011 Hopefuls

Published

Is there anyone planning to apply for FSCJ's Summer 2011 RN program? I am taking A&PI and II next semester with Human Growth and Dev. and Sociology, then I'll apply. I am taking Microbiology during the spring prior to going into the program. I am taking the Nat in September after Chem 1032. What about you?

Jessica89 are you in Duval or clay county?? Weren't your points 194.78?? Did you get a letter?

Thanks for the insight Lindsay. Do you know if the nursing dept takes the copy of Columbias transcript or if they want the fscj one? Only reason I ask is because I had an issue with them last fall. I transferred in my micro grade and the college took 3 months to "evaluate it" so i couldnt apply.

@KT- I saw your dilemma on the whole lpn and rn thing. I usually keep my mouth shut when it comes to sticking my 2 cents in someone elses conversation but i think i should this time. My mom has been an rn for 16 years. In that time they have actually phased out LPNs at her hospital. Most of it strings from the increase in qualified RNs has made the RN to patient ratio much more manageable. Also do to the fact they can save money by hiring CNAs to do much of the LPN job other then administer meds. Anytime i mention LPN to my mom or my sister(shes a cardiac RN) they both tell me dont even think about it. The pay is also a huge game changer. If you can get in the program in the fall then wait because in the grand scheme of things 3 months is nothing. I had a dept chair at IRSC tell me they suggest the LPN program to people with special circumstances i.e. its less demanding and some people need the job skills to put food on the table and the shorter completion time makes a difference.

Take it with a grain of salt but that is my input. I only hope the best for you.

Thanks for your input and thank u it was appreciated :) - Im just all over the place with all this. My husband says that I should wait until Fall and then go from there but if I take the course at CC i will be taking a full 6 classes and I dont want to over do it. But at the same time if those 6 extra points will get me to where I really want to be, then it may be worth the heavy course load.

Once the school processed your transcript from the other school ( did u say it was Columbia College?) Did they accept the credits or not? I myself called and spoke to several people and they all assured me that the school accepts CC's credits.

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!Praise Jesus!!!!!! I'm in. I got my letter of declination today and as soon as I read, "I regret to inform you", the phone rang from the Nursing Dept. I was 109 with 195.08 pts. She said they are many seats are being declined. Sooooo, that means you are next in line. Yippeeee!! Congrats!!

hey i was just curious but in a earlier post you said you had 193 not 195, just wondering

pleaseeeee call me nursing department!!!!!!!!!:uhoh3:

The declination letter said that I have 195.08 pts. I counted 193 incorrectly due to a class that transferred in from another college and I took the NAT twice, so it was difficult for me to determine my true score.

oh ok! im sure you were happy to have the higher score!!!:lol2: wow one seat and yet no call for me!!! :crying2:

i guess i will have to wait until tomm to hear from them, what time do they close?

I guess some things are ti good to be true. I waited all day by the phone and nothing!!

Lindsayy- Its okay, today was the deadline for people to respond, so maybe they will be calling you and others tomorrow or through out the week. They close at 5 PM I think.

Thanks kt2010, homely they will call tomm and when I'm home! I work and have school tomm, so we will see, I'm gonna sign up fir. The class tomm if I get no call when I get home. Now if only 11 more people would decline there seat so we both would Get in!!!:D

LOL! I knw right???? I knw thats highly unlikely. :)

I received my rejection letter yesterday. But I was wondering does MGF 1106 count as a higher math?

I already completed college algebra with a "B" but in the rejection letter it said they would take college algebra OR high math and wasn't sure if that counted...it would be nice tho because I will be done with it this semester and have an "A" in it.

Anyone know?
